The next meeting of the Society of Australian Systematic Biologists will be held after the Charles Darwin Symposium (22 - 24 September 2008) at Charles Darwin University in Darwin/Northern Territory around the 26/27 September 2009. Please watch this space for further conference announcements!
2007
The last meeting of the Society of Australian Systematic Biologists was held as part of the Invertebrate Biodiversity and Conservation Conference, 3-7 December 2007 at the Queensland Museum, Brisbane (http://www.ibcc2007.org/)
2005
There was no meeting in 2003. The 2005 meeting was held as part of the Combined Australian Entomological Society, Society of Australian Systematic Biologists and Invertebrate Biodiversity and Conservation Conference (http://www.invertebrates2005.com/) in Canberra in December 2005.
2001
The 2001 meeting of the Society of Australian Systematic Biologists was held jointly with the Australasian Evolution Society (AES) from 16 to 18 July 2001 at the University of Melbourne and Museum Victoria, Melbourne VIC. The conference included contributed papers and plenary sessions with speakers from both societies.
Workshops were held on the new opportunities that digital publishing offers to taxonomic and systematic journals in Australia; short-range endemism in the Australian biota; and on the controversial Phylocode.

1999
The 1999 meeting of the Society of Australian Systematic Biologists was held jointly with the Australian Systematic Botany Society and the Invertebrate Biodiversity and Conservation group (and in association with the Royal Society of Western Australia) from 6 to 10 December 1999 at the Perth Cultural Centre, Perth, WA.
The local organizing committee was convened by Alex George, Mark Harvey and Jonathan Majer, and included Jenny Chappill, Pierre Horwitz, Bill Humphreys, Diana Jones, Brendan Lepschi, Terry Macfarlane and Erich Volschenk.
The sessions for the conference were:-
Shark Bay; Arid Zone Biodiversity; Algae; Invertebrate Systematics; Co-evolution; Information Systems; Invertebrate Biodiversity; Plant Systematics; Subterranean Biota; Fungi; Methodology; Invertebrate Conservation; Research Priorities and Funding.

1997
The 1997 meeting of the Society of Australian Systematic Biologists was held jointly with the Australian Systematic Botany Society (and in association with the Australasian Mycological Society) from 28 September to 3 October 1997 at the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, SA.
The local organizing committee was convened by Bill Barker, and included Andy Austin, Robyn Barker, John Conran, Laurie Haegi, Duncan Mackay and Molly Whalen.
The themes for the conference were:-
- Software in Systematics -- Sunday 28th - Monday 29th
- Systematics: Advancing Knowledge and Conservation of Australia's Biodiversity -- Tuesday 30th - Friday 3rd
- Mycology Symposium -- Wednesday 1st
