Council Nominations
Incoming Council 1997-1998 (Nominations for the Executive)
Following the sentiments expressed at the meeting in Melbourne last year, the Organising Committee have proposed the following:-
- that, at this stage, the Executive of the Society comprise six members: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and two Councillors;
- that these positions be elected annually;
- that the position of Vice-President also be President-elect.
Because we do not have a constitution that determines the structure and operation of the Society, these recommendations can only be followed informally. Such matters as whether the Society should develop a constitution immediately (or not), the duties and duration of the executive officers, the venue and timing of the next meeting, and any other business, will be debated at the Annual General Meeting in Adelaide.
In accordance with these proposals, the Organising Committee has called for nominations for the above executive positions. The only nominations received by Friday 22nd August were (nominated by Penny Gullan and seconded by Karen Wilson):-
